OSCE: russia deliberately blocks freedom of speech in Ukraine by attacking journalists and destroying infrastructure

Russian troops are purposefully attacking the Ukrainian media and Internet infrastructure in order to block access to objective information. This is stated in the semi-annual report of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Teresa Ribeiro:

🔻 Russian forces kidnap, attack, and even kill journalists in Ukraine because of their professional activities. The report mentions the illegal detention and disappearance of 21 journalists and activists.

🔻 Russians kept Ukrainian translator of Radio France for 9 days in an icy basement, beaten with an iron rod and rifle butts, tortured with electric current, deprived of food for 48 hours, and simulated execution.

🔻 Ribeiro expressed condolences to the families of the victims: LIVE channel operator Evhen Sakun; journalist Brent Renaud; cinematographer Pierre Zakrzewski; fixer Olexander Kuvshinov; journalist Oksana Baulina.
